and does anyone know where I can get them? Is there a 1/4" and a darning one available?

I think that is your 1/4" foot It doesn't attach to the machine like mine. but then agan - I don't know where to find my walking foot or quilting foot. I wish you luck

Is that a slant shank?

Tink's Mom 05-03-2010 02:10 PM

Is that from an old treadle machine?...I have some like that from mine...
That is the straight stitch foot, but it probably is 1/4".

I have one like that from my 30+ yr old Kenmore. I think they had it for smaller seams in those days.

It's a straight stitch foot. Is that from the New Home?

ginnie6 05-03-2010 02:45 PM

yes its from the New Home. I've never seen feet like this before. THere is a piece that screws down to hold it on.

Every sewing machine manufacturer had feet that were proprietary to the company. Sometimes when companies merged thay took on some of the patents and sometimes they kept on rolling and adapted their feet to the new acquisition. Singer did this when they bought out Wheeler and Wilson. The 66-1 and 66-3 had the W&W styled feet on them and then it was decided it was not a viable transition and they dropped that type of foot all together.

New Home, White and a few others used a foot similar to that one and they turn up by the hundreds at thrift stores. The stores in my area sell the feet for .25 a foot so they are affordable.

Go to a sewing machine repair shop. there is one near me that has parts for almost every machine made. Try to find a general sewing machine repairman and not one that just sells and services the newer machines. If yu want I can send you the name of the shop near me. It is in south central massachusetts.
