My friend is cleaning out her mothers house and found these two machines. Can anyone tell me anything about them? I havent seen them in person yet but she says the Jones works. The other doesn't. She said she would just give it to me the Jones, but I would rather give her a fair price. The case isn't the orginal and has a hole cut in it according to her for the crank handle. Thanks in advance.
Here is the other one.

Both are Jones. You don't say where you live, but Jones were made in England.

Sorry I'm in Idaho.

I nothing about them, but would consider myself very lucky were I to be gifted a nice Jones handcrank like that. Enjoy your good fortune!

Wow, what a nice friend! Have fun fixing them up!

I have been searching for information on them to find what model excetra they are and can find nothing. Anyone know a site I can go to?

If she has the manuals for them, they will give you an approximate date. There is a manual available on-line at this link if it is a cylindrical shuttle machine: http://www.ismacs.net/jones/cylindrical_shuttle.html

No manuals. The pictures show everything she has.

sorry, but it does not look, from these pictures, like the handcrank is a handcrank but rather a handle mounted on the machines handwheel.

Jones are very well made machines and quite rugged.

Wonder if that stitch length lever also provides "reverse" like my Empira?
