What model is my Singer machine?
 

I'm sorry to post on here but its the only website that lets me register with no problems.
Yesterday I purchased2 Singer sewing machines for £50. One is a 201K and the other I have no idea.
After researching on the net I still cant find out what it is.
On the label I can make out "made in Taiwan".
At the bottom of the machine it says NLO288242.
When was it made and what is the model?
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Quilting Board.

I don't know the model of that machine, but on the right side under the hand wheel there should be a sticker or a placard with lots of amps, volts and other info. The model number is on that sticker on machines sold here.

Thank You. After I posted I have been addicted!

As for the sticker is worn out... I can't make out all that is printed on it.

What I can make out are:

"Made in Taiwan for the Singer Company... 240V... 30W total... "

There is 5 and a number faded after it which COULD be an 0 but i am NOT sure. Everything else is faded completely.

Maz83x --Is that machine saying it is 240 Volts. If it is, don't plug into a regular wall socket. PS maybe you aren't in the USA. LOL

Maz...I don't know! It's a more modern one, and I'm just not familiar with those at all..

Just to confirm... I CAN use this machine with it being 240V?... I am in the UK...

I was asleep this morning & my son decided to set up the machine and sew some straight lines and after some time came up to tell me that the main electricity fuse got tripped and switched off in the house (which it usually does for safety when a fuse goes out somewhere)... He blamed it on his sister saying she did it on purpose...

Then I read your posts! lolz... Now I'm confused and a little freaked out. Can i use the machine? Machines & Sewing I know a little about, Electricity and Bolts, Nada...

it looks like some of the heavy duty Singers made in the 80s. I'd guess its one of those made for sewing lots of denim or canvas as opposed to lighter fabrics. They still make them and the design hasn't really changed much.
