What is this?

they're asking $45.00. I don't see a plate and don't recognize the machine (I'm new to all this). Is it easy to find a plate and is the price ok? |
Looks like a 201 to me. Yes, that's a good price anywhere for that model. There is some rust on the metal parts, so be prepared to do some cleaning. The plates are easy to get. Check the motor/cords and that all the rest of the parts are there. The cabinet can be cleaned and freshened up easily.

It's in pretty rough shape, I wouldn't pay $45 for it.... and my first thought was that it's a 101...but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong!! :D

I think in this case I'm gonna agree with Charlee. It's not a 201, the round stitch control isn't there, and that poor cabinet is gonna take some major work. Doesn't look like anything that can't be done, but it's gonna take time, effort and perhaps quite a bit of $$.¢¢. Especially if you have to replace the veneer on the cabinet top.

You're right Charlee its a 101, you can tell because of the square throat plate. It was Singer's first machine with the potted motor.

$20.00 Max if you really want a major R&R project. By the looks of the machine and cabinet she has been very wet. The cabinet has some severe veneer problems. I would also imagine she will have wiring issues. Make a ridiculous offer to the seller based on the machine's condition. He may take it.

Would take allot of work.

I'm probably going to call this weekend and explain that the machine is worthless but I'll take it off her hands for a few dollars and see what happens.
