What type of light bulb am I looking for?
2 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
I am just going over the totally gummed up and frozen turquoise 15 clone that I finally got cleaned up for my daughter and realized that I totally forgot that she needs a new light bulb. I hadn't explored the light housing until now as I was expecting the usual push and turn pin type but it isn't.....and what it has has me scratching my head? the housing is built into the arm of the machine and the light bulb sits in a little cage....I unscrewed the cage and pulled it out so that I could get some better pics....all I can see inside are a couple of slots...is there a prong type bulb that fits this??? Thanks so much for your help once again! Joann ...in the 2nd pic the housing is upside down she sews beautifully as expected and her free motion stitch is so good looking I am wondering if I should keep her!!! |
My LQS has a big box of bulbs, but you don't have the old bulb to take in. My Singer 301 and my Elna 62C both have bayonet type bulbs. I'd hate to have to carry a machine in to get the right bulb.

as it turns out the fixture was missing the socket and luckily our local Janome dealer had a whole drawer full of old fixtures he had pulled out of old machines and he had a fixture almost identical to the original (same housing, slightly different switch) Happy dance!
Just waiting for hubby to wire up a plug to make sure it works, then I will feed it through the machine and she will be ready to go! Joann |
