What's the difference between a ....
..... Singer 201-2 and a 1200?
There is a Singer 1200 in a small industrial looking table on GW right now and it made me curious. { http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-19756194.html } The 1200 is visually identical to the 201-2. Joe |
I finded it. Now youse guys don't have to tell me to do my own research ... :D

ok but it's not a power table. 1200 still uses the potted motor, the thing hanging down is the controller. in fact that stand is the same as used on a singer #404 cabinet, but with a 4 drawer cabinet upper
It would be like having a "mini industrial" with a servo motor. |
Well, I got the info I posted from ISMACS, so if it's wrong it's their fault .... :)
My wife looked at that machine and said: "That's like the machines I used at Barrows years ago." She said it would be a good quilting machine. Unfortunately it's in CA and we're not ... :) I told her she could use my 201-2 ... same thing basically. She didn't appreciate my humor. Joe |
nothing wrong Joe, I didn't open your links because I know that table. see the term power table indicates the motor is attached to the table.
who ever buys that will have the perfect sewing machine. |

That's a later 1200. All except the last 5 years or so of production the 1200s were labeled as a 201. The knee lift is built into the back of the machine. Also notice the lack of decals. It's not really a power table, it's what was commonly used in tailors shops.

the dark box below the table attack to the back brace, with the rod going to the pedal. is the e controler aka foot pedal, you can also see the knee lift
singers #404 cabinet kinda hides all that. I've tired to look up the singer 404 cabinet all I get is a u tube vid that I can't load. if you look in at singer 15-91 manual on about the 3rd / 4th page it shows the 404 cabinet. |
