When were the Singer 66's first manufactured??? any ideas?

I have a friend who just emailed me the serial numbers on a Singer machine that she says is "red"
like yours...(I have a singer 66 red eye that she recently saw)...Her serial number that she gave me was 05723993, which as far as I can tell might be 1891, but no models are given on the data base I saw. She has said before that it is an old treadle. I hesitate to say it is an 1891 if it isn't. No pictures either. Thoughts???

ISMACS claims the red eye decal set was started in 1902.

Some times the serial numbers can be hard to read and interpret.

Thank you all, I will pass along the information, and of course, I learned something new too. Love this board.
