I think the price of a Featherweight depends on what part of the country you are looking in. North they seem to run really high. I have 2 and paid $350 for each of them. They are both in excellent condition and sew like a dream. To me well worth the price and a lot less than a plastic Bernina which I also love!

How bizarre! When I click on it it gives me all the info in US pricing etc, so the exact opposite of what is happening for you. Even though I went to the US site to conduct the search, it still must keep my location as part of the algorithm. Very interesting.

.....It was just kind of surreal following the conversation and nobody seemed interested! :) However, I understand a lot of people aren't into bidding on these sites. I was looking out of my own interest - didn't expect to actually find one. I wonder how the clips got busted off the case?

I've only purchased one machine from an eBay seller. My experience was positive but for the most part I'm turned off by the shipping rates.
But that's my personal beef with USPS and the fact that I'm getting old enough that I remember what it used to be. :D

I have been actively trying to land a white one and today I started bidding on them over on Ebay and making offers. I was instantly shot down on bids and offers. Discouraged I made up my mind I would just have to wait until the next round of white featherweights hit ebay and try again.

Then a box pops up on my screen and says PAY NOW you have won a white featherweight! WHat!?? Wait!!? I freaked out because I thought one of my bids had gone haywire and now I was going to owe 700.00 or some ridiculous price on a white featherweight. I forgot I had made a low offer a few hours earlier for one asking $450.00 with free shipping...He accepted! YIPPEE after getting shot down on all of the others I had written this one off too.

So now I have the white featherweight I have been drooling over. I have no more machines on my list. I am done, I am happy. Now to start sewing and take up quilting again.

Don't give up and don't be afraid to offer a $100.00 less than they are asking, you never know they might just surprise you and accept your offer. :thumbup:

theres a few listings on craigslist almost every time I look here in florida for 250.00 then there are always the same ones for 399.00 Im in orlando and check daytona spacecoast and orlando craigslist I personally dont want one so thats probably why I see them lol
