White Featherweight questions

Can someone help me ~ Is the white Featherweight supposed to have a oil drip pan and if so where can I find one for this machine? Also can someone give me some idea of what to clean the case with as it is VERY DIRTY ~ not well cared for. Is there somewhere I can get material to recover the case or find a used case? I know a whole lot of questions but I need help. Thank you for any information you can offer.

The drip pan on the white featherweights was a piece of masonite like 1/8" material. If yours is missing one can be cut. Do not use water to clean the inside of the case, it may be a paper like wallpaper. The outside can be scrubbed with soap and water. I use Dawn dish soap, but other soaps may work. Test any that you intend to use on the bottom of the box. After cleaning and glueing down any loose pieces with white glue, polish with shoe polish.

Ken

What kind of shoe polish??? I did clean the box with Dawn dish soap and it for the most part did clean it up. Now it looks like a green and cream case not dirty green and who knows what white. I didn't clean the inside as it looked like it wasn't as dirty as the outside. Looks like it has been shufeled around for most of its life. Thanks for your help

If not clean test something stronger on the bottom. Test Mr. Clean be carful. I palished mine with Nugget neutral polish from a .99 store. How are you doing with the drip pan? You can PM me if you have mare questions.
