White FW in sad shape :(

I just saw this one on GW
{ http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-18354816.html }

I thought to myself there's another one gonna go for a big price. Then I looked at the pics and read the text .... :( :( .
Poor 'lil thing.

I called gal from a lqs who had one for sale. Went to look at it. She wanted $450. It didn't look this good. Couple drunken sailor words slipped and I apologized. I didn't know til I got there she wanted that much. The paper in the binder said 45.00. I called the quilt shop and told them about it so they could make a note about discrepancy in price. I told seller the price stated 45. not 450. Oh well! Things happen. Good thing about the drive was it was a nice drive.

Yeah, that's what I think too. Considering the amount of corrosion on the aluminum bottom, one can only guess what the steel parts under there look like.

Looks to me as though the belt is on wrong, but it's hard to tell. Still, I would think someone would want it for parts at least, or for decorative purposes. Price certainly was low.

Lynn,

The auction still has 6+ days to go. I suspect it will go a lot higher than it is now.

Very tempting...I've always wanted a white Featherweight. Not sure I want to deal with a ton of rust.

Susie,

Having rejuvenated several rusted machines, I second those thoughts.

That's aluminum rot on the body. I think that's worse to deal with than rust. Previous owner probably put it away because it wouldn't sew. Well, the needle is in backwards.

Might be a good candidate for a repaint. Whoever gets it can count on either rebuilding the bottom of the machine or parting it out.
