Yes, the 201 is indeed larger than the 15, and I think the 66 is too. I have all three sitting in my living room, repairing the 201 and the 66 for family members. (I got them all bitten by the vintage machine bug!) The 15 may be smaller, but if one wanted to buy a modern machine with the same size harp, you would be paying at least $500 for it--- and garenteed it won't work as good or be working in a hundred years from now!

I have a 201 and a 66, and at a glance they still look about the same. I have to find a tape measure. I don't have a 15.

My 15-91 has 6 7/8". I have a Free Westinghouse ALB that's 8", same as a 201, which I think is about as large as non-industrials got.

OK, I can stick with the current collection. I have a Necchi Mira that measures 7 1/4 by 4 1/2 and a Kaiser clone that measures 7 by 4 3/4. So, outside of falling onto an industrial model, I'm good to go.

Okay I guess I kind of bit myself a little here, I really thought the 15-91 was only about 1/4" smaller than than a 201-2. I got both a 15-91 and a 15-125 earlier this year but haven't had a chance to do anything with them yet.

I love the photos of the size comparisons, SteveH and Leonf. I showed them to my DH, along with the Craigslist link Leonf sent me. I think I can safely say he was floored with the size! I don't have room for one now (my living room looks like a sweat shop and I'm the only one in the house who sews!) but maybe one day:)

People often use me for an example of what could go wrong. I can wear that badge proudly.
