I have one almost the same. Same color and badge. They were made in Japan and badged with all sorts of different "names". It's one of my prettiest machines and one of my least favorites. I think you'll find your machine doesn't have a centered needle position and it's a left homing machine. Not great for quilting as the fabric would only go over one feed dog:< But, for general sewing they're good machines.

well the funniest part of this all is that i do not sew........i do own another sewing machine that I can not seem to make work correctly. i am not sure why my neighbors thought of me when they saw this but it was sweet. i guess she didnt think i had one. anyway, i am going to try and thread it and sew a straight line in some scrap material-maybe i will fall in love!

thank you for the info.

My brothers friend bought a house ''as is '' and sight unseen. On his 1st day of cleaning he found an early 50's Belair and brought it to me. So far all I've had time to do is turn the wheel by hand and I plugged it in and the light works. So some day soon I have 3 Vintage Beauties to get busy on. Unless this fella finds more in his new house. The previous owner was an elderly lady who done sewing for her neighbors and made quilts for all the new babies in the neighborhood.

I'm thinking Belair was made by Brother.
