Yahoo's Vintage Singer Sewing Machines group???

I've seen a couple references to this group, so I hope it's okay if I ask a question here. If not, please delete it.

I tried to join the Vintage Singer Sewing Machines Yahoo group today; I filled out the info and waited. I received a response to my SPAM folder asking me to confirm that I wanted to join. When I tried to move the message as "Not SPAM" it disappeared. Poof! Not even stopping by the "Trash" box.

Now I can't send a second request-to-join through the groups Home page. I can't get in; but I'm not out either.

If someone reading this is a member of that group, and if it won't take too much of your time, could you send the moderator a short message that "Caroline94535" needs another verification message. I would be so grateful.

I'd like to jump in the conversation and ask a "semi-related" question.
I also wanted to joing the Yahoo Vintage Singer Sewing Machine group, but can't figure out how to do it.
It's asking for a cell phone number and I don't have one...
Not that I'm opposed to cell phones or anything, I used to have one, just where I live now (boonies) there is NO cell coverage from any company.

Even if I had a cell phone it couldn't get a message from anyone with a code required.
Caroline94535 mentioned them e-mailing the code, and maybe that was an option I just didn't see.
I have internet (satellite) and e-mail just not a cell phone.

Any suggestions?
I'm more than willing to try most anything to participate in the group.

Thanks,

NewGuy

Yahoo groups are controlled by the person who creates them. The Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Group (and several others) are run by one person who has very specific rules and controls in place. Not all groups are like that, The W&W group for instance is much more easy going and less "ruley"

Took me a while to navigate the process and I am an IT manager by profession...

Do you have a yahoo ID already? The cell phone # is required for new sign ups/registration. (It's ridiculous.) Here is their contact page. There's got to be away around it.
They often pester me about my cell # but I won't provide it, since I'm already signed in.

New Guy - I've sent you a private message.

I want to say a big "Thank You" to whoever got me into the Singer forum so quickly.

This will be my Machine & Quilting home, but I hope to glean a bit more info on the Singer Fashion Mate 252.

Thanks again!
