........ I got Elaine to run a treadle machine!

I was trying to follower her instructions on doing a flat fell seam and developed a total case of brain stupids. So she sat down and did it herself. I had to spin the hand wheel for her till her feet figured out what to do but she got it. WHOOO HOOO!

She just looked over my shoulder, read this and said: "I still like my electrics."

Treadles are so fun! Besides having that feeling of a prior time, it also gives that little bit of virtue of exercising while quilting. Okay, maybe it's not much - but it is more than just pushing buttons or stepping on a foot pedal. Right?

Yep, that's right :D

Wow! I am impressed! Elaine sure learned to sew on a treadle machine faster than I. I majored in home economics in the 1950s and I had to learn to sew on a treadle machine. I was so uncoordinated. It seems that it took me forever to learn. Thank goodness, I could make my garments on an electric machine. Now, I would love to have a treadle machine. Way to go, Elaine!

I love my treadle. I need to come up with a project to sew on it.

Now that should not be very hard.

I haven't sewn on a treadle for more than 60 years! I suspect I'm going to have a tough time getting used to it, but I will!

I could do a lot better if I'd stick with the treadles. But I use the electric machines more. They do take practice and coordination.

It is like riding a bike, you soon remember. You just don't fall off of the machine, ...I hope.
