No, no , please do not mistake my post as a "rebuke" or anything like that. It is just that we have that thread for folks who want to show funny/odd/over/under priced machines.

The first link are blindstitch machines and not unreasonably priced, the second is a 29-4 leather/boot patcher. a little pricey for my area at least... I just sold one 2 weeks ago for $200

If it's pricey for CA then it's definitely for here! I just have no clue since I don't follow industrial machines.

That second machine seems pretty reasonable for that price. I've seen them sell for more than that in the past few months, admittedly I've only been looking in Australia.

Those are interesting machines - they seem to be a bit over priced to me, but then I am not in the market for such machines.

The cobbler machine (29-4) can punch a hole through a thick leather boot like it's putty and people pay a premium for this. The recipient of Steve's is a lucky customer getting such a beast for only $200!

If you see one at all, usually it's priced for more here. I can't say what the selling price actually is though. I did see one go by priced at $100. I was sad to just watch.

He is my apprentice, so yeah he gets a price break. But I only paid $100 for it. It was missing 1 part that i got later in trade after having made my own replacement that mostly worked...

The coolest thing about those 29 series patchers is that it is a walking foot machine that you can rotate the feet/needle assembly 360 degrees while stitching. My first test session ended with me being able to sign my name on the leather.... Pretty easy.

I sold mine because I picked up the Emile James Patcher. It is the grandfather of the 29's and was made around 1868/9 whereas the 29-4 I had was from 1906
