The American Cancer Society has a "discovery sale" in our area once in a while. Today was the last day, everything was free!! (yes, free!!) I was wandering around the aisles, picked up a few random items (shirts, books, etc) and all of a sudden, something caught my eye..... It was a vintage Singer!! Holy Cows!! FOR FREE!!!!!!! So, needless to say, it followed me home! :D :D
It needs some work, some cleaning and such, but looks to be in really good condition!! Yippee!!
So I'll be looking for how to restore these old machines! (Billy, you there??  )
Thanks for looking! (I'm a bit excited, can you tell?? )

Original Cabinet?

Oh! It was manufactured in 1938 in Elizabeth, NJ.

Oh no!!! I don't have room for that many!! Well.... I could always ask my DH to add on to the house....

Some of mine are being stored in the closet right now. The person who built this big farm house had the right idea with putting in 9 closets. I haven't had the time to play with my toys as much as I'd like.

Wow!!! What an awesome find! I now have over 9 vintage machines. And to think it all started with getting a treadle machine for Mother's day!

#3 son's GF found a similar one by the curb one day when she was driving down a street in another city.

How wonderful for you!! Have fun making this beauty work!!

Nice Price :D I love free!!!
I got two of my machines from the trash. yup neighbor was throwing them away... Only thing wrong was they needed the tension adjusted.

That is a nice 66-16 you have!! It has the Wrinkle finish but a lot of folks call it the "Godzilla" finish. From what I can see it does not need much to get running again, and if you need the missing parts I stock all of the parts for the machine so feel free to to PM me with your needs.

Great find. Can't beat that with a stick. Congratulations on the start of your collection. It is addicting. Just be careful of the coffee in Billy's shop.

Lisa haven't you been making the coffee for the last few times ;)

It's Sunday morning and I have been busy in the kitchen.

Billy, if I stop by the shop and drop off a pan of hot cinnamon rolls with maple icing, could you give me advice on finding a tan/taupe handle for a 221J case?

It is the post connector handle. I have two bolts with one brass post on, but no handle and one missing post.

I am scanning the net, but only find black handles and none with post mountings.

Enjoy the cinnamon rolls . . . who ended up making the coffee?

Aardie.

Lisa did today seems she is an early riser ;-)

I am digging the Cinnamon Rolls yum, but I am going to see if I can find you your handle. Something tells me that all I will find will be the black ones.

Lucky you. I want a Feather weight. I have an old treadle that my husband restored and refinished the cabinet. It is beautiful. I need to use it more.
