zipper presser feet

When did sewing machine manufacturers start to include sipper presser feet as a "standard attachment"?

I just purchased a machine that the instruction book is dated 1954 - and no zipper foot! It has a darning foot, a button sewing foot,, those weird looking ones that I have yet to learn how to use.

I've seen it in my FW manual, dated 1964. I'll go look and see if I can find it in an earlier one.

They started in 1955.

I have a 1953 99K manual, attachments are Foot Hemmer, Adjustable Hemmer, Multi-slotted binder, Edge stitcher, Gather Foot, and Ruffler. it shows the feed cover plate as optional.

I have a 1956 99-13 manual, attachments are Feed Cover plate, Zipper Foot (shows the fixed one with the slide for left/right), Seam Guide.

BTW- do you need a zipper foot? I've got a whole bunch of them, fixed and flexible.

I think I got infected with the acquiring sewing machine bug!!

Do you have a zipper foot for either of these?

I just acquired a Necchi BU Mira - it seems to be in excellent shape except for the wonderwheel donut - I WAS looking for a typing/machine stand to SET machines on - my GF called and told me about this one - i HAD to go look at it -

and/or

a Necchi BU

and/or

a Sears Kenmore 1781 (158.17812) - I think I read somewhere it uses an extra high shank?

It seems odd that zipper feet were not included - I am fairly sure that we were using zippers back in 1950.

If yes, how much for the foot and shipping?

Send a PM, please.

I've got Singer - low shank attachments. I've got some non-singer.

Thank you for checking.

I think if I try - really really hard - I can probably 'make do' with the machines I have. :o
