Monica;
Beautiful quilts and love the sock. You have been busy and thanks for your kind words about the butterfly quilt.

Monica, great quilts and runner. I also like the sock. I make knitted socks too. It is nice to do something different once in a while! I like to use those socks to run around in when I am in Strip Club or somewhere sewing with my shoe off!

Thanks! I have made socks from the top down, but never a sock from the toe up. I like the toe up method!
Once I get my latest quilt done, I'll post that. I won a bag of ties at one of Cathy's TOGAs. Hopefully after the first of the year I can get to making them into a quilt. I found a pretty tie quilt on a google search that I will be copying.

Here is my latest Strip Quilt finished. I have 2 or 3 more tops to get quilted before I am caught up with the Strip Quilts we made this year! This is called Smokey River using Stonehedge fabrics. The quilt was pieced using either my 301 or a featherweight in class and my 319w in treadle at home. I put the binding on with my 1222e Pfaff. It measures 99x106 after quilting!

WOW!! Nancy that is a handsome quilt! I love the blues with the shades of browns and hints of greens. This must of been a fun quilt to make. That's a huge quilt. Stunning quilt!!

Thank you all - Chris, Miriam, Cindy, Monica, and Skip!

Monica, no that quilt was a pain to make! One of the hardest strip quilts I have made because that stonehedge fabric is very stretchy and it frays really bad! There were several of us who did that quilt, but I don't think anyone else finished it because of the distortion from the fabric stretching and fraying down to the seam! I used a lot of Fray Check on my seams, which I have never had to do before while piecing a top, and I stay stitched an 1/8" around the entire quilt top before quilting it. DH really likes it and wants me to keep it! After all the trouble it caused me - I think I will keep this one!

Nancy
