Here is what the cross stitched block says:
The cornucopiae, the horns of plenty, an emblelm of abundance of fruits and flowers.
The chevron, a V-like figure or picture, rank of standing, for those who fought under William the conqueror in 1066.
The Lillies in the chevron indicate the name of the family, Lilly, for which this Coat of Arms was made.
Names:
Half bushel John, One Arm Bill, Preacher Will, Sock Head Andy, Groundhog Sam, Miller Bob, Clowney Lewis. Just to name a few. The Clowney Lewis was the father of the person I made the quilt for so I put his name here too.
The next picture is what I had to go by to make the center. It is off the cover of a Lilly receipe book.

My wife and I met on the job some 30 odd years go. Worked together there as a team off and on too. I believe the backing is flannel. We got a big roll of the stuff at Hancock Fabrics when they went out of business here.

All my life both my aunts have had cats, seems like a family trait. So to make a happy quilt I picked that genre. My wife has been collecting cat prints for years, so we took some and made the squares. I really don't think we scratched the surface of what she has stashed.

The 319 is very much pristine. It came to us with all the needle plates, a couple feet, the owners manual, motor manual, and the case is in excellent condition as well. All we've done is buy some bobbins and needles, do a bit of cleaning and oiling and use it.
Elaine will not let me put it in a treadle.

Trish, I enjoyed the story that goes with your pretty quilt. I love the names of the characters, and that reunion must engulfed an entire town or park, nicely done.

Sharon, More cute, colorful, baby quilts that I'm assuming are headed to the Project Linus, sweet.

Joe and Elaine, Congrats on your first quilts using your vintage machines. I like the paw print fabric that you used between the blocks on these cheerful quilts. Your aunts will enjoy cuddling under them while they fall asleep at night.

The string quilt is for the Linus Connection(no affiliation w/project linus), the red,white and blue is for Thank You Quilters and our quilts go to the Wounded Warrior project at Fort Hood Army base in Texas.
The Linus Connection's quilts/yarn blankets all stay in central Texas and go to "In-Need" children.

Your quilts are beautiful, all the bright colors are great.

You might find machine quilting a bit easier if you accordion pleat your quilt rather than rolling it, that will make it more maneuverable.

I think it is wonderful that the two of you enjoy quilting together. There never seems to be enough "together" time and suddenly one of the partners is gone. Enjoy every minute of it and have fun with your quilts and machines.
