Default I think I am a good Grandma

I just gave my 23 y.o. DGD my Singer 401A. Recently serviced and good to go!

She seemed to be happy to get it. I told her many people considered it to be one of the 'better' Singers made. I hope I told her the truth!

I love her dearly, but not enough to give her the Necchi BU or the Bernina 530-2.
And I like my Singer 237 (a plain jane zigzag) better than the 401A

Am I weird or what?

I bought my 401A in 1958 and she has been my right hand for all these years. I have bought other machines but still do most of my sewing on the 401A and it still runs like a dream. You are a good Grandma.

Nope...just being a good grandma! You realize it's our duty to addict the next generation, right?

Glad to see there are folks out there who LOVE their 401A's. I used to say that if the house caught fire, that would be one of the first things to be rescued.

You are a good gramma. Giving her a sewing machine and letting her shop from your stash too. Way to go, gramma.

That one is still on my wish list. I did learn to sew on a 401; it's a keeper.
