Default My Sister Has Been Holding Out on ME

My sister came for a visit today. I was showing her my small but growing collection of vintage sewing machines. I mentioned to her that my goal was to add a Redeye and a Feather Weight to the collection. She says, "Oh I have two Redeyes and a Sphinx. My daughter is not interested in either, would you like one"? Oh goodness, I had no idea she had those machines or that she even sewed anymore. I am hoping that she will be bringing me one on her next visit. She said that she has not looked at any of them in a long time. Whoo Hooo for me I hope.

Wow, I wish I had a sister. I'm glad your sister is so generous.

Do you get to pick which one? If so, will it be the Redeye or the Sphinx?

Oh my gosh! How lucky is that. Hopefully you can at least get pictures so you can check them out. Nice sister!

I would really prefer the Sphinx, but I will not be choosy. When she gets back to California I will ask her to Email me some photos and serial numbers.

Awesome!! It really pays to mention to anyone and everyone that you love and collect the vintage machines. I got to talking with the hygienist, while waiting for the dentist to come in the room, about quilting and old sewing machines....she had her grandmother's old Singer 99 in a Bentwood case and she was looking for a new home for it. The next time I had an appointment she gave it to me!!!!!!
