Default Sewing Machine Survey from 1953

Found this sewing machine survey in my Fall/Winter 1953-54 Modes Royale Pattern catalog. I want one of each!

Cool pics of those old machines.

J Miller and Mrs J Miller want that Singer table and stool in the upper right corner.

Neat-O!

I'd take any one of them, but the Singer 301 is still at the top of my list. I was terribly excited when I was looking at a CL ad for "grandma's" sewing machine. First picture was the trapezoid cabinet. Second picture showed a 66 Red Eye in the cabinet. Sigh. Made me wonder who snaffled the 301.

I love it!! And you'll notice that the ladies are dressed up with every hair in place and makeup applied?

If we could buy them at the 1950's prices, we could have ALL of them!! LOL

Charlee, I noticed the lady...she looks like she was dressed for a night on the town!! LOL

Funny, I'd never heard of Calenda before this post, now I've seen a CL advertisement for one on eBay.

OMG that is too cool. I'll take one of each also. I guess those ladies don't sew in their track pants & no makeup LOL.

Yep those ladies are a lot more 'together' in their sewing room than I am!

My mom tried to fix my hair like that one time when I was in elementary school...didn't work very well as my hair was too short and poked out all over. Wouldn't you know it was picture day too!!

Used similar machines in my HS home ec class.

Oh, that's how I quilt and sew all the time! ROFL I wear a wig because of very thinning hair. I definitely put it on just to get the sewing started!!!! I feel so sorry for the UPS man when he comes to the door and I am still in my pjs and hairless.
