Default Featherweight from eBay

I recently 'won' a bid on eBay for a Featherweight. The excitement was like waiting for Christmas! Well, 5 weeks later I am still waiting on my Featherweight to arrive.

I wanted to pass along a lesson learned maybe to help someone else. When ordering from Canada the item may be stuck in customs until they get ready to release it. If I had it to do over again - I would pass on such a 'deal'.

Good things are worth waiting for...you'll forget the wait when you get her.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I really am looking forward for "Annie" to get here. I have named her Annie because she was purchased at an auction....she was orphaned...thus the name Annie. She looked good and the seller's comments were positive.

I think if I were you I would inquire thru EBAY to find out why it is taking so long. soon you won't have any recourse should the machine never arrive.

So sorry. I bought 2 featherweights from Ebay but I passed on the Canada due to the shipping being so high and worries that would happen. Anything I get from out of the states is slow boat. Hope you get it soon.

I totally agree with amyjo, I would definitely inquire to the status, not only with ebay, but with the seller as well. I purchased one of my FW's from ebay, my first purchase from ebay, and was concerned there might be a problem, but mine arrived on the time schedule the seller gave and was packed very well. No damage. Good luck hope you receive Annie very soon.

I live in Canada and understand where your coming from. What I discovered that that if an item is shipped by courier across the border and its over $40 there is a surcharge of at least another $40. Therefore Canada Post or USPS are the only way to go for less shocking shipping, (still not cheap). It's called snail mail for a reason! hope it shows up soon!
