Default Viking 758

If anyone has any leads on what kind of bobbin case this machine uses, or a manual - I would be most grateful.

I have tried the bobbin case from my singer 15 and it fits. Tried the needle in all directions and no luck. Cant get the beast to sew.

I think these are the ones....special bobbins but I could be wrong. No affiliation with seller. Good luck.

Interesting - they look like my bobbins for my treadle. I have an extra bobbin case too. I will give that a try....what could it hurt. Thanks for the lead.

My bobbins didn't work...arghh. I might give up on this one. Maybe it's timing....I suck at fixing that kind of thing.

The bobbins you tried go to a treadle? My Viking 6010 takes bobbins that look very similar to the 'L' bobbins that my 319w uses, but they were not the same bobbins. I had to buy Viking bobbins for that machine. Before you give up, I'd get a few vintage Viking bobbins. Have you tried Sew Classic for vintage Viking bobbins?

Well, used all your suggestions & got it working. I had to adjust the timing and got it sewing after using a lot of thread. I used up a whole bobbin fiddling with the hook that when I reached for the next bobbin and then it wouldn't sew again....

So I held the bobbins side by side and there was a slight difference! Sews a beautiful SS.

The bobbin closest to the needle is the one which works - less holes? I wonder if this kind has a number?

One of the gals on the Vintage Sewing Machines Facebook page posted one exactly like this today. She adjusted the timing and it's sewing well, but needs a manual. Have you found a good source for one?
