Default 221 bobbin winder

Can't get bobbin winder to work on 221. It turns easy enough but when we put it does against the belt it won't work hardly at all and the screw that holds it together works looser. Do we just need to replace it with one from Glen Williams? Or is there some type of repair we haven't done.

I have the same problem and look forward to an answer. Also, Glenn is great to order from.

They are notorious for that. My friend uses one of the machanical bobbin winders from Wal-Mart for under $30 and bypasses the problems with the machine's bobbin winder. She winds 20 at once and then doesn't have to bother while sewing. I don't like to constantly interrupt sewing to wind the pesky bobbins either.
