Default new foot control for FW

Recvd in the mail today a new foot control for my FW from 221 parts. Plug looks the same but won't go all the way in, being a new plug is it because it is stiff or what? Anyone else have this problem. Plus can't find a phone number for 221 to ask a question.

Any input would be appreciated.
thanks,
Becky

Can you e-mail who you purchased it from? The plug won't fit on the machine or in the outlet??

tks misskira, I got a phone number from a friend for 221 parts and they said they are made tight is wiggle and push and after a couple of times it will be looser. I am going to follow the tips on the blog, tks for sending it. You people on quilt board rock!

I just bought a new one on E-bay for my 301A
that I also purchased on E-bay.
The control was very tight.
Just wiggled & pushed a little & it worked jsut fine.

I had this problem one time, too. Didn't matter what I tried, So I bought another one with a different controller and it was fine. The first one I was able to use on another machine.

I've had the same troouble from some of my FW's. I've had to plug them into extension cords for that reason, because I don't want to wear them out or leave them plugged into the wall.
