Default So frustrated with shopGoodwill

Hi everyone,
I have bought one machine from shopGoodwill's online site, but I am so incredibly frustrated with their pickup policy. The hours are 8-2 Monday-Thursday, and 8-1 on Friday.
Now, I'm a teacher. How on Earth am I supposed to get there, when I work from 8-4 Monday through Friday?
I know I should have checked the hours more carefully before bidding, and I'll only be out $10, but who do they think is going to be able to come with such restricted hours?
My only hope is if they're open on MLK Day, which I have off.
I'm not going to take a day off to pick up a sewing machine!
Anyone out there in northwest Denver?
Ila
p.s. I know this isn't strictly about a vintage machine, but I thought it might forewarn people who are thinking of picking up after buying from Goodwill online. Check the hours carefully!

I had a problem with there hours also, I got a hold of the guy doing the sales via phone,, had him bill me that day and did the pu that day. you might do something like this , but pay online and pickup in the store that evening ..

They do have a whine line about having someone else do the pu, I guess that can happen,

hey take the kids on a field trip.

When I have situations like that I really try to make arrangements with their management. So far so good. Or I see if I can get someone else to grab it for me.

Hi Joe,
How would I get a hold of management? Just call the customer service number for the pickup location?

Thanks, Joe. I'll give them a call, but won't hold my breath that anything will change. I've just made a forced donation to Goodwill. They'll relist it and sell it to some other person who doesn't read all the fine print well enough. My mistake, and a lesson learned. Apparently, Goodwill assumes all their customers don't work during the day, or on weekdays.

I can have my husband pick it up for you. You just need to email goodwill so they will let him get it. PM me and we can make some arrangements.

Hi Geri and novicequiltergrandma,
First of all, thank you for the offer, NQGrandma. I'll private-message you, but wanted to say thank you here on the board to acknowledge how kind Coloradans are to each other.
Geri, I teach elementary school. It's like herding cats, or shall I say, herding kittens. It's a lot of fun, and a lot of work, but worth it.

Management are usually good to work with you if you go in a pay for it and them pick it up when you are off. I think it is the money they worry about the most..
