I am doing the happy dance right now. My sister-in-law and her husband are leaving their home of 55 years to go to a retirement home. I was visiting today and asked about her sewing machine--could I buy it from her? No, but you can have it!!
They bought it new in 1955 or 56. It has only been used for mending. I bet it doesn't have 20 hours of sewing time on it. I have to replace the power cord. I am not one to name my sewing machines, but I'm sure this one will always be "Betty's machine" in my mind. It looks like new. And when they get the card table that came with it cleaned off, I will get that too!

How wonderful! It stays in the family and goes to someone who really appreciates it. Everybody wins.

What a treasure! Even more so since you know this machine's history.

I so wish I could run into a "deal" like that on a featherweight. I have told my whole family what these look like in case they run into one on thier trips atound town.

Oh to be so lucky!
