Default That's it!!! these attachmenst are driving my crazy!

I should have stuck with Singer - pretty much everything fits everything! Well, at least with the short shank machine.

These Greist are driving me nuts. And it does not help that so many companies made rebranded machines - so trying to figure out what is what. . . makes me want to dump them all in one big box and list them on ebay just to get them out of my brain!

I still have one style I'm not sure what it goes for.

Here are the four

The first fits on the White Rotary, or those made by White with this configuration. Notice how the bed screw hole is in line with the hole in needle plate, both of which are just below the level of the needle hole

The third fits on the Free Westinghouse with the rectangular plate.

I don't own a machine like this, but here is what the plate looks like - notice the two holes on the needle plate

The last fits the National (in this case, my two spool) With this one, notice how the hole in the needle plate is lined up and very close to the needle hole?

The one I don't know is the second. This could be for a long bobbin type machine, though it would need to be one with a narrow slide plate (could be a later New Home).

Here is is lined up with my Free - this has the same width slide plates as the Singer. The White also has narrow slide plates, but they don't meet in the middle like would be required for this attachment.

Anyone got a National they'd care to measure for me?

They are shirring plates, they work with the ruffler for doing gathering when you aren't right at the edge. You start by removing the shirr plate that comes attached, and then putting this one on the bed of the machine.

Since these mount to the bed of the machine, they are machine specific. I found a list on Needlebar about what machines Greist made sets for, but I don't know if the list is complete or not.

National Rotary - fits my Two Spool
National VS/Other
Free VS - fits my Free "Long Bobbin Rotary"
Free/New Home Rotary
New Home VS (old) - I want to get one of these . . .
Singer (side clamp - the only style I've seen would fit VS machines). I have plenty of these
White Rotary - Fits my new White with the molded head.
White VS (says one style has bed mount hemmers) - I have the foot mount hemmers - fits my New Queen

Joe - your other box of goodies showed up today - I'll send you an email with pictures later. You already called dibs on my stuff that fits newer machines - it's gotten to be a decent sized pile as I've gone through everything. I really thought I'd get through it all with a four day weekend - got through most but not all of it.

I really want my sewing room back - the attachments have taken over!

The Singer items in the back are all sorted and arranged, manual and set of attachments for each Singer machine I have. I'm still going through the metal boxes and Greist stuff on the front half.

And my cutting table - not much room for cutting right now!

More over here too - I set them out so I could pull the correct vintage ruffler - most of these are Singer and extras.

So far I've got four people I'll be sending extras to. I'm glad to help others complete their sets if I can.

Ohoh! If you have a set of Kenmore cams in that pile and would be interested in trading for a box of "White Attachments" (same black metal box with purple interior) just let me know.

Or if anyone else does for that matter.
