I visited this sewing shop at the 'new" location on Friday. They had this pic up on the wall. And under it two real Brother machines.

You all know what I'm gonna say but I'll say it anyway - yeah I have these. I have several magazine ads too. I'd love to have that sign but don't know where I'd put it. I wish our new Brother dealer was even remotely interested in Brothers history, but they're not.

Up until recently the closest Brother dealer was 30 miles north of me. All we had was a Pfaff dealer and a Janome/Bernina/Elna/Necchi dealer. The Babylock dealer retired about 5 years ago and the dealership was moved over an hour south. This summer Quality Sewing(Brother/HQ/Juki) opened up here on the same street as the Janome dealer. The last time I was in there I noticed that they now have Janome and Bernina. Made me go Hmmmm...... and this week the Janome dealer closed up shop.
I miss the Babylock dealer because he was a good guy, he would work on any machine and he liked vintage machines. He always had time to answer my questions about a machine even though I wasn't buying anything. The Pfaff guy works on all machines too but he's a crook. He makes a good living "retiming" vintage machines. There's one other OSMG in town but he would rather sit around with his friends all day and play with his dogs than do anything else.
