Mal's mini sewing machine
Has anyone ever seen one of these before. I thought it was so cute and she is thinking of selling it I wonder what its would be worth. I would love to buy it but don't want to pay a lot for it. I did go on ebay and there were two one sold for $116. the other $101. They are a replica of the featherweight Any imput would be appreciated thanks

I have not had any personal experience with one of these, but most of the information on the internet net is negative. Made in China, cheaper materials than Featherweights, motor not as strong, made for a short time in the 1980's and then company closed. Only good point that I saw was cheaper price. No idea on how many of them that there are.

A fellow has been trying to sell a FW knockoff for several months on CL. Looks pretty convincing, and he's been honest that it's a repro. Started at $300, but has slowly been reducing the price. Says they are $499 at Allbrands.com http://albany.craigslist.org/art/3288886591.html

The logo on the front of the machine says Los Angeles....so I don't think it was made in China??
Anyway...you can purchase a manual here...

and this site has some good info on the machine...evidentally it was made in the late 80's

One of these mini Classics is in the window of antique shop near us at the moment. It's goes to auction on Wednesday night. I may go bid but will not go over $100 as I don't know how easy it would be to get parts. This one looks to be in great shape, no sign of wear on it and it has the case. I will definitely go to the preview to see if it has all the parts and directions, etc. If anyone actually has one of these, I'd like to know about replacement parts, etc. I haven't been able to find out anything online yet about the replacement parts. Thanks for your help.
