Ohhhhhhh! I wish I were near Cleveland. That is a Brother machine - zigzag capable - but it is a treadle! I know the pressed wood cabinet is an eyesore but the cabinet is solidly built. 85.00 is a heck of a deal. This is only the second one I have come across. The other was in Pittsburgh, PA.

It says it's an antique Singer, but it looks like a giant fern to me! (Frankly, I'd be more interested in the fern...)

I expect a frog is in there, and you have to kiss it to find the machine.

beware of the sewing machine eating giant fern - sort of science fiction...
NEVER let a sewing machine know you are in a hurry.

I don't know but I want to know what a Singer Kenmore sewing machine looks like, too.

Holy cow!! Is that what happened in my sewing room? I even close the door! I realised I had 3 411Gs today, and thought there were only 2. DH got a good laugh out of that.

Yeah, you have it even worse. You don't just turn the lights off and close the door, you leave them alone in a building by themselves!

It is getting right scary. I'm thinking they are coming up vintage Kenmore more often than not.

maybe the machine is stuck - off the hinges or something so it won't open. I got one free that way once.

This guy has no clue that his sewing machine aka boat anchor, doesn't have value that is equal to a working lawn mower or weed whacker

I've totally got a weed wacker he could take for that. It's worth about $.50 too.

You think he fished it out of a pond?

Oh dear, it takes all kinds doesn't it? This thread is hysterical!!
Never met a scrap of fabric or vintage sewing machine I didn't like!
Many a lost and lonely vintage machine has found a home with me, 26 and------ uh oh lost count, who is counting anyway!

Why doesn't he just go pick the trash until he finds what he is really looking for instead of dragging home a poor helpless little sewing machine?

Probably because he has delusions of grandeur like all other lay people. He sees an old sewing machine and immediately thinks he has stumbled onto a gold mine!
