Still a bit overpriced but WOW!

This is the Finest new home I have ever seen...
I don't know about overpriced either. That is a super fine example indeed! I actually think it is worth the money. The cabinet is in super fine condition too. The finish looks like it might have some alligatoring on it, but it is over 100 years old. ... And it looks to be complete as well. I would like to see the plated parts polished up though. It's a beauty!

Shush woman. I would probably drive over if you had a cabinet for this kenmore. I'm only 2 hours away. I LOVE road trips.

I also have a couple early 15s if someone wants a road trip......... LOL

That's just crazy! Of course I still don't understand the price of most furniture. At least now I know it's not a home made chair.

I'm going to pick up this chair tonite. $15! I will recover it and paint it to suit my tastes. Maybe I should put it on castors so I can "ROLE" around my sewing room too!

Missing the slide plate, bobbin won't turn, maybe the wrong part in it, remove the piece and the machine sounds great. Yep, all good selling points!!!!

I wonder if it had ever been used? Very unusual to see a sewing machine that is almost in pristine condition.

MUCH better deal I'd like to see it when you're finished with it.

The Slide plate is a problem, I don't know what it shares with, but I bet the bobbin case is in wrong and jamming it. Or the hook shaft is bent. A non-smudged pic would sure help determine that. The 431 I have here had a bent hook and it jammed, but I've also seen the BCase put in wrong and do the same thing. Based on the expertise of the seller, I'm guessing the latter is the problem.

yeah.....and I could not help myself, I wrote them..... I asked how firm they were on the price while explaining that the machine was worth it, but that i just could not afford that much. We shall see what develops.

Never met a scrap of fabric or vintage sewing machine I didn't like!
Many a lost and lonely vintage machine has found a home with me, 26 and------ uh oh lost count, who is counting anyway!

When a see a picture of a machine in that kind of condition, it just breaks my heart. It is the same feeling I get when the ASPCA commercials that show all the sick & injured dogs living in shelters come on the TV.

Did his research huh? How come he doesn't even tell us what the make of the machine is? Somebody ought to tell him WE do our research too!

    I think it's a 9W -- a re-badged W&W.

Yup, it's a 9W. I still want one though, seen a few around. But if I find the early 15 with a pheasant or owl decal, I'll grab that one too.

I just sent them an "$425? Are you serious?" email. I'll let you know if I get a response.

LOL. Hey! That gives me an idea. We should send all of them a message. If 10 people all over the county tell them it's overpriced, maybe they'll start becoming a little more reasonable...

I'll send him a note in an hour with "even at 425 pesos is a little much don't you think?"
