I think the 301 owner got confused between the "fully serviced and ready to sew" price and the "been sitting in my basement for 20 years" price.

DH found this one - the price is right . . . though I'm not sure what you'd be getting . . .

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/fuo/3886048720.html

If I lived closer, I'd buy it hopeing for some interesting attachment in one of the drawers! Cabinet looks like MIL's - came with her Golden Touch N Sew. Foot pedal looks like a Singer.

I've emailed that seller for pics, 2 or 3 times, and they have yet to send any. They did confirm that it is a Singer machine.

Grant, yes it does. Fantasy-land 's research department is connected with Fantasy Island and the Love Boat. It specializes in extreme fantasies of machines worth lots of money combined with falling in love with the sucker, err buyer, of said machine.

It was really weird until I realized it was two machines

My 301 is running great & has 3 quilting feet, two bobbin holders, zipper foot, and all in a lovely cabinet. It must have been serviced recently, it runs like a charm. I was just wondering if it was worth more than $30, not to gloat, but to tell the kids to hang on to it if it is valuable. I will research how to get a manual, probably cost more than the machine!

Add about $100 to that and you are good. Manuals are free at http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals just scroll down to search - before that is a box you put in 301 and hit search. Then you will have the option of a $15 manual or printing out a free manual.

I like this ad. I have a couple of family members I would like to sell too. Where do I go to get them appraised? I would name this machine Clark Kent. Unlike this machine, HE is about 80 years old,and is a Man of, well Steel, not Steal. I also like the manual. HOW TO USE AND ENJOY YOUR BROTHER. Ewww. There is a machine called a Sister. The manual for that says HOW TO USE YOUR SISTER. Again Ewww.
Kind of funny but creepy at the same time.
