I picked up an 1802 for $10 from Craigslist with pretty much the same amount of accessories, though it didn't have the embroidery hoop gizmo, or the electric scissors, and it isn't a free arm machine.

Maybe because its a free arm. I used it to make clothes for years, cute mother daughter outfits, lol. I don't make clothes anymore, I collect sewing machines. Hahahaha!

I wouldn't want it either... Who knows what other ignorant things they did. I do get a lot of people wanting a machine that will do that. I've wondered about renting out my big industrial machine in house... I just don't want to have to clean up after idiots...

I don't think any of the factories recommend doing their test sew on a tin can.
I think, just like the lending your machine out thread a few weeks ago, letting someone come in to use an industrial is asking for trouble. Yes, you can fix whatever they hand you, but should you have to? The speed those things go at, they can hurt themselves pretty badly too when they don't engage their brains before using it....
