I've gotten some very good deals from guys who claim they got Mom's/Grandma's machine and have no desire to keep it. Though in all those cases, Mom or Grandma wasn't around to give it to them - seems no one else in the family wanted it, and they figured they could get a few bucks for it so they took it home.

Seems to be two sitting on the treadle. Also no picture or idea of the machine. It's mentioned but strange that there's no picture of it.

It isn't common, but it isn't rare to the point that it would ever be valued at $700-$1000, or even $500.

One of them sold on eBay last year for $50 or so.

Unfortunately, people use a lot of hyperbole when listing items for sale.

Probably would have whacked an extra $150 on it if they'd had to get up and go over, take all the stuff off, lift up the lid, raise up the machine........ Phew!

I'm seeing a trend here: better get some money for nothing because I can't be bothered doing anything!!

That's the funniest rave about a machine I've seen in a while....... I'm talking "rare, rare, rare" that I LOL like that!

One of the grungiest machines I've ever had on my bench was brought by the daughter and picked up by the mom. Cat pee. Ugh. Gag. It was disgusting. It was a pretty metallic blue Kenmore (C877-something), and it was brown and yellow from grunge and the cat pee. Broken tension parts (it was even missing the beehive in the upper tensioner!), pretty every "minor" problem a machine can have.
