I used to have that same machine until I gave it away to someone looking for a newer model machine - not vintage.
It is a unique approach and have seen the same type of thing here but not with a sewing machine. I feel sympathy for the situation and especially the pets.

To the guy with the machine and says he only has 3 days of food left--if it's that bad go to the local food pantry. Guy trying a scam I think!

I would buy them a case of food, and suggest the food pantry. They're not going to eat it, and a dog somewhere isn't going to go hungry. I've been hungry (starving college student was a literal for me), but I never let my animals be hungry. I guess I feel for this person. The fact that the first option is for the food is what tugs on my heart.

The one who emailed and wanted me to buy her Ikea sewing machine without a pedal for $40 so she could buy groceries, I didn't feel so much for. Especially when I offered to bring her some groceries and she could keep the machine and never heard back from her.

sent the seller an email asking for a better picture, and that the machine looked like a Wheeler Wilson, but I could not tell for sure.

They wrote back asking me what angles I'd like pictures from, I responded that one showing the machine as you would see it if you were to sit to sew on it would be great.

No response back, so I'm thinking they were being facetious in their email- with no intent to send a better picture. After all, for $15 I should be willing to drive across Atlanta and pick it up. But I already have 11 door stops, don't need another and if it's not a WW, that is all it would be to me.

That is cool! I saw something similar to this that sewed martial arts belts. They have a lot of straight stitched lines running the length of them. I would love to see this one working. I also wonder what it looks like under the footplate. How many bobbins etc, how it hooks the threads and if they are individually locked. That is a big "slideplate" so I wonder. And look! It's a Centennial!

I noticed that the cover for the bobbin hook is in with accessories. No wonder it looks new, someone didn't know how to put it back together.
