Hi Folks,
I just joined and am catching the old sewing machine bug quick. 2 weeks ago I started to clean up and refurbish my wife's Great Grandmother's Minnesota Model D. That's coming along well. But I wanted to share another machine I just picked up. While wandering a local antique mall, I spoted this beauty - a Foley & Williams "New Model" complete with treadle cabinet. It is 100% complete including needle, shuttle and bobbin with thread on it. It was struck by how nice its condition is. The seller had a sign saying "everything 50% off". So it followed me home for $47. With a good cleaning and lubrication, I hope to have it humming along soon. I've been searching for information on it, but have found little. Can anyone provide more details about this machine?

My appologies, I was trying to put this in the Vintage Sewing Machine shop section, but it didnt work as I thought. I also tried to upload some photos of the "New Model", but that didn't work either. I'm better with old mechanical things than computers...

Hello and welcome from south central Indiana! I too have been bitten by that 'vintage sewing machine bug' Be careful, those old machines are addictive and can easily become an obsession!! =) I'd love to see your photos. When you upload them, do not click preview or, for some reason they don't come through. Hope you enjoy your time here on the board, there is a lot of helpful information in the vintage machine shop!
