Default treadle kits

I bought a sewing machine at a thrift shop and want to find a treadle cabinet for it. I would love to make one of my design but don't know if there is a place to buy kits to make your own. Does anyone know of a place to get something like that?

Lynda,

I don't, but I am looking. I've got several treadle machine heads that need homes. So far I've not found anything.

why couldn't you take the measurements from an existing treadle cabinet n cut the boards to length? the drawers just hang under the top.

You can. But then you need the iron parts to put the wood top on. That's the hard part for me, finding those.

Just keep looking on Freecycle and Craigslist. Every now and then some show up for free or cheap.

I picked one up at a garage sale...the machine was way beyond use, plus missing so many parts. But the cabinet was in OK shape.

Check E-bay. I was looking today using a search term "treadle sewing machine" and saw lots of complete cabinets, cabinet parts, and treadle parts.
