That might be a possibility, I am going to PM the Admin to see what they think about it. I was told we could make this a virtual thread but I need to read up on it a little more as the format is a bit different from what I am used to.

But I am agreeing with everyone I had no idea this would turn out so big and to think 20 pages on the start of the 5th day?

That is saying something there!!!!!

But thanks to everyone who has posted and commented, if it were not for you this Shop would have drifted off into never never land!

Thank you so much for the information on the attachments. I am familiar with a few of them but in no way an expert spotter as to what is what yet. I did recognize the Fagoter but thats because I have been watching for one that is reasonably priced in the original box.

Funny thing I have all of these machines and only 3 or 4 attachments for them and do not have an idea how to use them yet LOL!!

Good morning all. Sorry, no coffee cake this morning, too tired to make any and have to go back to school to finish ceramics final. I will take a cup, tho.

Maybe the sewing fairy will magicallly put a treadle or FW in my path(although not literally) while in town. Wish me luck in finding something.

Wow! I learn something new each time I come here. Thanks for sharing your expertise and knowledge.

As to a section, I know a section named 'machines' would be easiest. When Admin made the change to the new format, there was discussion of new topics. It was decided at that time to have the virtual sections, so everything under a particular topic could be accessed from the virtual section. This requires some work on the part of a knowledgable person (sorry, I can't volunteer. I do not know how to go about that.) to peruse threads and add the thread to the virtual section. A virtual section allows things like this shop, threads with pics, etc., to all be under the same umbrella. So it will eventually be the same as a section - but it will not have a title in the list of 'main, pictures', etc. It would be listed under the 'all user-defined sections'.

By the way, I love this shop! Thanks for setting it up.

I went to a hardware store and got the supplies you suggested to clean my machine. I even found a small table to put in the yard to do the work..it's metal so don't have to worry about the wood rotting. I've managed to get the motor and light assembly off and am ready to go. I taped each screw and part to a piece of cardboard and labeled them so hopefully will be able to get everything back together. I do have a question...when I am cleaning with the kerosene, will it affect the decals on the machine of some should get on them.

Also, I saw a Brother treadle machine at the thrift shop yesterday. The # was A556547. I did a search for dating Brothers and got nowhere. They were asking $75....the belt was rotten and it was dusty and dirty but not in too bad a shape. Can you date it for me??

Hopefully Admin will just add this as a separate section such that Pictures, Main, ect. are. It would be easier to find.....but that is just my opinion....lol.

you know I just like looking at the old machines. they are so elaborate. Another thing you can do is every so often feature one of your machines. give a brief history of how you got it.
plus you .can have a contest to name her.

mine is known as uncle eddie, because he gave it to me whenhe passed. Now i feel bad that I left it in the cellar. but am going to display it thanx
