I dont own one yet but I might break down and buy and keep one before its over with. The only one I had I paid $25 for a month ago and it was a factory Mint Green one and I mailed it to France with a few dollars for a Singer Model 12 MOP (Mother of Pearl inlays) in a treadle and I am waiting for it to come here now. She emailed me a few days ago and told me it was at the shipping yard waiting to be shipped.
But I just want you to know that we really appreciate your help with the FW's. :-D :-D :-D

I did this to my Model 27 Singer that I painted a Candy Rootbeer I used a dark red clear sheet and made my shuttle plates out of it. Now I can watch my shuttle go back and forth while sewing.

Good luck reading the thread all 81 pages worth!! It might be past a hundred before you get to the end with the way its going. There is a lot of information and history in the Shop and we are glad to have you here with us.

Depending on how it is fastened to the machine you might could go to the hobby store and buy some sheet Styrene and cut a plate out of it. If it will slide on and stay then you can watch the bobbin as you sew and see when you are fixing to run out.

Well no pictures until I get home from Dad's house.......dial up does suck! Anyway Mom's vintage Singer is a 206K serial number EH146475 - 10,000 were allotted on March 3, 1952 made at the Kilbowie factory in Clydebank, Scotland. It was bought in Lynchburg, VA by my Dad brand new for my Mom. She was a professional seamstress at home and I grew up with this machine. I love this machine and can't wait to clean her up and give her a proper oiling. I really should name her Hazel after my Mom. She has been well loved and used. Her "Singer" decal is either worn mostly off or will be rediscovered when I clean her. She does need a proper cleaning for sure.

Yes Dial up does suck, but we will wait patiently for the photos!!

Yes, for a junker you really gave it new life.
Another question: will you be going over what to do with rusted irons? All of the supporting irons on the Household treadle I have that was left out in the elements plus the wheel on the machine head are visibly, quite rusted? I am assuming on the legs, etc. I would rid it of as much rust as possible and paint it. Can't imagine doing that on the hand turn wheel.

OK here's the little black Singer from the auction.
Im thinking that little hole is where the cord for the foot pedal goes. I havent opened up that little black lid to see. It is screwed down.
