I'm guessing it's a Kenmore ?
You are probably right. It's only $20 and less than a mile away, but I'm up to my eyeballs in machines to fix and find a home for, so I'm gonna let that one pass.

Glad you had good success. Sometimes I use "soing" or "sowing" just for fun. Not many found, though. I copy the email addys and send through my yahoo email.

Does it need the cord with the big 3- hole plug? And they usually take a standard bobbin case, at least that has been my experience. I have a couple of models here now that take the case with the "1 o'clock" finger.

OK, here are some pictures of the machine. Its model no. is 19E, and Mum thinks she bought it 1963, which seems about right.
Let me know if it helps!

Thankyou! It's a Hidden Wells quilt - looks really impressive, but is quite easy as long as you're accurate. I'm quilting it at the moment, using stitch-in-the-ditch on a plain backing which looks great. I ran into trouble with the borders - I think all the bias edges on the top stretched - but I hope that, with help received from people on here, it's going to be OK.

The plug-in for the cord is where it differs from the Singer 15 it is a copy of... The plug has three slots, rather than round holes (not unlike our electrical outlets, but three) and the connection is on the top of the motor, on the back of the machine, rather than on the right side like a Singer. I'm at a loss as to where I would find something like that, so I hope they can locate it at home. I think this owner got the machine when family members died, yet she knows nothing about sewing machines herself, or what is supposed to go with them. Waiting to hear from her...

I think every vintage machine I've bought must have come from a non-sewing family member who inherited it... Is sewing becoming a lost art :?:
