Offer less than $50.00. You can always come up in price if you have to. If you get it for less than $50.00 you can tell yourself about the great deal you got and go make room for it at home. You know you want it.

OK, you guys I have been pining over a Graybar that our local antique store has had for a month or so. Went up there and saw it again today. I didn't buy it, talked myself out of the machine as I now have 28 machines and don't 'need' another ' one. But this Graybar is very pretty with a foot pedal shaped like a foot. Since Graybar only made sewing machine between 1926 and 1934, I know it's approximate age. I need to be talked out of this machine!!!! They are asking $50, but are open to offers as it needs to be moved and has been in the store for a couple months now!
I don't need another machine! Why doesn't someone here go and get it? It is located in the small town of El Dorado at the Hartwick Antique Store!

Here's my litmus test - would you be willing to get rid of a SM that you already have (and you have some very sweet SM's) and replace it with the Graybar?? If the answer is No, then let someone else have an opportunity to buy it :)

Nancy since when does need have to do with anything. I will not go get it because I do not want to take the pleasure of owning this machine away from you. lol Besides what I spent Tuesday leaves no money in my pocket book. :cry: Kathie

How do you like your 306K and can it be treadled? Also what class of attachments does it take or does it have it's own? I'm looking at one and trying to decide whether to get it or not. I think it takes special needles and it uses cams. I have an hour before I leave to look at it and would appreciate your input....

Hi Billy, and all! I have just added two new members to my sewing "family" -- Ellie and Adah... I'll attach pics here of Adah -- a Singer model 27 built in 1909, tredle machine. Billy - I need needles and belts for both machines. Can you give me an idea of where to look? The industrial machine has a leather belt. Also, is there a place to go and get a repair manual for either machine, and/or a diagram explaining all the parts, etc. I copied the info about how you clean up your machines, but am unsure of what the different "Plates" are -- I know the plate where the feed dogs is probably the needle plate... Sorry to be so uneducated!!
Also -- when you restore these machines, do the beautiful decals restore well, or do you need to replace them?? Mine are beautiful, but some parts have worn away. Is there a place to purchase new decals??

Yes, she is. Built in Scotland in 1938.
