CL from my DH home town -
http://syracuse.craigslist.org/atq/2466538721.html
$20 redeye

White Rotary in Martha Washington Cabinet - $35
http://syracuse.craigslist.org/atq/2479252977.html

edited to add - I see now the dates are old, but, just saying, just shows some people have over inflated expectations of what they will get for their machines! (I wonder if they are still there?)

Tommie, I am so sorry. I would have died of embarrassment in your place. I do remember the uniforms and swimsuits - too awful to describe! Even in college, it continued. Yuk!
One of my class mates was named after her dad, but her parents messed with her name---------
instead of "Carletta"

on records she was Carl E. Lastname (Carl Etta Lastname)

First girl in our call to get calls from the military. (1965!)

Lisa...veneer isn't all that hard..did you know you can get an iron on veneer? It's pretty cool stuff...you can cut it and do "inlay" designs with it...according to my "refinishing friend", it's awesome to work with and fairly easy! I have a cabinet that I'm thinking about using it on.
Charlee, I will have to look into that. I know how to iron. :-D

Charlee, you are younger than I am. No possibility of woodshop for me :-( Ah, well
Me neither!!! I had Home Ec in both Jr High and High School...one of my friends ran the sewing machine needle straight through her pointer finger nail...they had to take the needle out of the machine with it imbeded in her finger and take her to the hospital. I hated the skirt I had to make, and never wore it. We made Gym bags (remember when we had to wear shorts & shirts for gym class?), skirts, and something else, but I don't remember what it was.
We had to make a wool suit. I don't think I ever wore mine. And in gym we had an ugly one piece shorts thing.

I had to take home ec too - I remember when they came up with Touch and Sew machines. I had a horrid time with those - swore off Singer for years. Used the FW at home to do my wool project. Didn't learn much - my mom was a home ec teacher before she stayed home with kids - I learned a bunch from her.

Isn't this bunch the greatest? I just bought some 20x1 needles on ebay for Mamie (New Florence)...they aren't cheap, but I *really* want to USE this machine!
Did you get more than you need? I have been looking and looking for some for my Minnesota and have not been able to find them. I only have one needle and am so afraid of breaking it. If you do have a couple extra I would love to buy them.

Thanks
Bev

Bev, I was only able to get six needles, BUT!! I am going to go see the local SM "repair" guy (in quotes because his talents are questionable!!) and if I'm not mistaken, he's got a box or two in the back room...if he does, do you want me to get you some?

I wonder why no one is bidding on this item?
It ended up selling for $208. The prices have come down...I have been watching, and many are going for right around $200 +/-!! Not like even a year ago when most were over $275.

We had to wear one-piece gym suits. The top and the shorts were connected. UG---LEEE!!!!!

We had black shorts and a starched white shirt. {sticking out tongue...pfffft} They were ugly.

Now to veg out the rest of the day.
Don't ya' love it when people think they can be "helpful"!!! LOL
