You know I've been thinking this one is a boy too - a real tough mean one. The dude that had his tv on the cabinet was huge fireman. Don't know his name. Thinking of calling him Edsel maybe Mr. Ed for short or Eddy or something.

That's what I noticed first, I like that too. I'm looking forward to seeing her all cleaned up!

I have one of these, it's what started my love for the crinkle look. Haven't sewn on it yet, the wiring just looks so old, hubby said it should be okay but I don't like playing with electricity or take chances. It's on the 'to do list' soon after the sewing room gets done, which doesn't get started for a couple more weeks; so it will be a minute. Hope it's as much fun to sew on as it is a pleasure to look at. :-) :-)

I finally scored!! $40!!! My brother found her at an estate sale this morning.

Note with attachments gives info that this machine was bought in 1949 from the Fresno State College Home Ec Dept as a treadle.

I'll post better pictures after I clean her up.

3. Once you've cleaned off a test spot and the serial number, you have to finish it.

I salvaged this from my Grammy's garage after she died. No one wanted it at the estate sales, and I thought it was too interesting to toss. I've no idea where she got it. She didn't sew. It's not a treadle machine that she salvaged the base from. I used it as a doorstop for the last decade, never crossed my mind it could be fixed or used.

Really, it's just missing 2 parts, but I ordered them both today. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get the motor cleaned up myself, but I should have fun trying. The crinkle finish is a little worn. What I really like is the embossing, even more than most of the intricate decals on other machines.

White Rotary, black crinkle embossed. SN 1x62861, so the year is 1931.
I really like that one. I'd like to find one, but so far no luck.

Here is my 319 that I treadle. I got it from a good friend.

What did you have to do to it to treadle it???
I just took the motor off and set it in my red eye cabinet. I did have to get a longer belt and works great.

I'd call him Mr. Ed. - Ed. short for educational. ;)
