Billy, I just bought a Singer Serial G4764462. I need to know what model it is so I can get some parts and a manual.It sews but needs some tension adjustments. If I had a manual I could do more I think. It also needs face plate for the bobbin. I am using the one off my other Vintage Singer right now. I am going to attach a Pic so see if you can help me out here. I would appreciate it very much. Joy
PS: I can take more Pic's if you need them to help me out. I'm a big dummy at this stiff.
Also as you can see it has been converted to electric.

Hi Grannyh67,
You have a Singer 66-1 with Red Head decals. Made in about 1916, very pretty machine! I have a 1919 red head, your decals seem to be in better shape than mine. The clear coat on my machine is sorta aligatored/crazed, it does sew wonderfully. Her name is Ruth after my grandma.

Sharon, thank you. Mine isn't in real good shape, the clear coat is not as good as I would like. The Decals are in pretty good shape though. I need to find a face plate for the bobbin. The case is in bad shape, not good for anything, lol. Going to try to find a Cabinet if I can. If not my husband is going to fix a box for it to sit in so I can sew on it. The tension is off on it too. Hope I can get it to sewing real good, would love to use it. Yours is beautiful. Looks like it is still treadle. Wish this one was. I will put it back if I can find a Cabinet.

PS: Sharon, the model 66 has the screw for presser foot at the left and the 66-1 has it in the back. If I am correct, so mine would be a Model 66. I looked it up . You helped me to find it. See if I am correct.

Kathie, I would have had some choice words for that man. He was wrong to treat you like that. We don't consider them junk. I love my old machines, I have two now and am working on another one. Hope you can find you some parts. I need a face plate for the bobbin. I used the one on my other machine until I can get one for this one. Joy

My machine is treadle powered, always has been as far as I know, I just bought the head.
Which plate is yours missing? The one that goes under the needle or the one that slides? On Ebay currently there are both for sale. You need to take the tension assembly apart and clean it out, the tension disks may be rusty. You're needle bar has been swapped out for a more modern type that uses the standard Singer short shank attachments. I see that your bobbin winder is the same as mine too. You should be able to find a Singer treadle cabinet to put your machine in , just remove the motor and belt, get a treadle belt and you'll be able to treadle her.

Sharon, it is the one that slides. I will check out the yahoo group. The needle was in wrong too, I got that squared away. I just got this today. I am still trying to get it fixed. I hope I don't have to take it to the shop. They will rip you off sometimes, lol. I am also going to check on Ebay for the parts. Thanks a million. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
