This was a fun project before getting back to the quilt that I'm working on. I took a couple of days off from that while I decided on how I would do the borders.

Right now there is a Pfaff 130 in the same cabinet on e-bay for sale for 499 or something like that? I feel very lucky to have found that cabinet! I will post pictures when we get "Joy" all settled in her new home!

My Mother's name was Joy, hence I am calling her beloved Pfaff 130 'Joy,' which seems fitting. I am really excited about getting the cabinet completed. It is in really good shape. The seat is leather, really nice too. Now, I have to decide which treadle will go into the storage unit so the Pfaff can stay in her cabinet in the house!

Glad to hear you got the cabinet. You must have been in my neck of the woods. Did you happen to check with your TOGA friend with all those parts? Maybe she has some that wouldn't require all the welding? Let me know how you like your 130. I had thought about getting one of those at one point!

I learned how to sew on my Mother's Pfaff 130, so I love that machine too. Those 130s were carried on ships by the sailors to sew sails and anything else that needed a stitch, so you can see what a tough machine they are. Mom was a seamstress and used that machine daily - it never gave her a lick of trouble - always sewed perfectly. The Pfaff's are very realiable machines.

Perhaps someone could help me find information on maintenance on my Singer 66 treadle machine. I have a reproduction instruction booklet, but theere is no information on where to oil it. I bought it for the cabinet ( to make a nightstand), but when I opened it, there was the machine in pristine, but used, condition with the purchase papers and installmentpayment schedule. It is written in German(I )believe, and cost $88 in 1928. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me so I can get her in her best running condition. D.Stair
