I am finally playing with 1 of 3 Necchi's. It is running but was wondering if anyone on here had a Necchi Nova BU? She runs fine and quiet but am wondering if I'm seeing/finding all the oil ports which are not like Singer oil holes. This vintage lady runs smoothly and quietly and she is destined to be a gift to a friend who doesn't have a machne but needs one.

I have you tried the Necchi yahoo group for the manual? I own a Necchi Supernova;so, I can't be of help for you on the BU.

I once had a 50 X 30 pole barn for sewing my tents. DH had one end. I hated it. If I ever did it again I would have only one set of keys. MINE. And God forbid anybody to die and leave us the contents of their house.... At one point I had 30 some bicycles in parts in the trusses. Finally found somebody to take them for the parts - my brother had been a bike racer and he would buy a bike and rob the parts for the one he wrecked. Don't ask. We had camping gear. We had antique furniture from when someone else passed away. Then my DS moved in one end with some metal cutting gear. My area kept getting smaller and smaller and dirtier and dirtier. I became very allergic to the barn - we finally figured it was outgassing from the insulation - I was also reacting to the treatment on the canvas. Then we ended up moving to the city. Try cramming the contents of a 30X50 pole barn into a house..........

Miriam, sounds like what everybody tells me about my sewing room, that I try to stuff 5 pounds of s--t in a 3 pound bag. I'm guessing they think that is a bad thing, lol.........but I love all my sewing stuff.......

Miriam, I am with you on the pole barn. If we had one it would be filled to the top with sewing machines. It's about time for auctions and yard sales to start and DH is already looking to see what machines are being offered. He has no problem with machines following us home I usually have to tell him to hold off on some of them.

Irish that is a nice looking machine, but I can't help you! I don't own a MW's machine! If it were mine, though, I'd try a few things before taking it in to a shop - depends on how much you paid for it and how badly you want it to work! Maybe, Cathy can help you as she works on all kinds of machines!

Buslady, that would be my dream arrangement - to have a house with an upstairs 'loft' and it would be all mine! The only problem with that is that my DH has a bad back and it is hard enough getting those heavy machine in the house - much less up stairs! But, how wonderful it would be once they were all up there!

Skip, for the first time I went to the photo shop and was able to actually download the 'whole' photo of your before and after of the W&W #8. WOW! Did you write the name in gold paint? Did you re-paint the bed or just touch it up? WOW again, I know you are probably not home from camping, but that machine is just wonderful. I can't believe the difference in the before and after. I think you should be a machine 'refinisher' on top of being a 'cabinet' man! I was blown away!

Didn't he do a fantastic job? He needs to hurry up and have a WONDERFUL time fishing so he can come back and write the tutorial for us so we can finish our machines too!!
