Nancy, my daughter uses my dogs' brushed out hair to keep the deer out of the apple trees and flowers. I know my old hairdresser used to save cuttings for clients, too.

Miriam - do I see a 301? Where did you find that many clothes for wrapping machines?

Rosie, I just went and measured all of my cabinets...they average 18 inches deep, and range from 32 to 36 inches long.

They all have their price Candace... There are quite a few neat machines. Yes that is a 301. There is an old black Necchi, several 3/4 size 15 clones, just a bunch of machines. I think maybe the ugliest is that orange one. Cracks me up. I'm hoping to learn a lot. I know I will learn a lot about wiring or I'll never get rid of them. Some will be a real simple thing - just change them right out with some of the kits I have on hand. I also got a pile of attachments. The place was rather interesting. This was in south western Indiana. Very hilly and curvy roads. The lady had a fabric shop in the big house. She had junk in 3 out buildings. These weren't small sheds - big buildings. I didn't want to seem rude so I didn't take much pictures. The lady died 4 years ago and they are still trying to get rid of stuff - she got rid of the fabric before she died. These buildings were full. Well, they sold the property so they HAVE to get rid of the stuff. So it was buy all or nothing. So since I'm crazy I bought all. Some will be no good I'm sure but mostly there is good stuff. Oh the family was pretty entertaining. They sat and watched us while they were burning old chairs and furniture and 5 gallon cans with tar in them or tires or something... (insert yuck face here) I just can't really go into all of it.... I'm trying NOT to think about it.... ANYWAY. They were drinking something brown and cloudy out of quart jars. Smoking something and burning furniture and watching us. I wonder if they thought I was going to throw a chair on the truck or something... They were going to burn the sewing tables and take the machines to the salvage place. I made them an offer they couldn't refuse. I hope I didn't blow my life savings too frivolously. Toward the end they were a bit more friendly. I was never so glad to get out of there though - hey what could they do - they already had all my money... AND we have to go back for the rest on Tuesday. Oh well. See how that goes. LOL. I hope we can get in and out a whole lot quicker on Tuesday. We took the legs off the cabinets that would knock down Saturday. Machines are already to go too. I pick up free t-shirts or grab bags full of shirts for rags... some times I wear them. That black and white striped one is the one that little black machine was wearing - the 301 was hiding in the white one - too bad I didn't have an orange one for the orange machine - color coordinated???

It is killing me to not dig through all that stuff yet. I'm like a kid in the ice cream store - I don't know which one to try first. Probably be the 301 so I can get it on CL with the other one soon. I stuck it by my bench so I can find it again. It has a cool cabinet and pops right out when you pull a lever. I don't even know if it turns right now.

That little nameless black machine is very intriguing. It has a place on the balance wheel makes me wonder if it once was a HC. I'll try to shoot it's wheel tomorrow some time. Glenn is going to run by here and pick it up along with a batch of scones from Phil. Cooking is not my epoch. My kids all learned how - they say I taught them. If I remember right they probably learned so they could eat. My son tells everybody I am a gourmet cook. So I asked him what he meant by that. He said, "Well, mom you wouldn't believe what other people eat." OH??? He says, "They eat stuff that comes out of boxes out of the freezer - tastes like it too. When I tell them you just cook ingredients they say your mom must be a gourmet cook..." If that's all it takes, I'm a gourmet cook. I just don't love cooking. As soon as you are done cooking it is gone. I like sewing. You can sit down and do it. I can look at it a lot longer when it's done. AND if it doesn't turn out at least I can use it for a rag - with food if it doesn't turn out you go hungry and the neighbor's dog won't even touch it.

My wonderful boss is having me train someone tomorrow so it will be a long day.
