looks like a Davis, same cabinet as my VF. High price, though.
Yep, that does indeed look like a Davis. The top is thick, and the little curlycues on the front drawer look just like my cabinet for my NVF. That price is high, but maybe they would deal. Anyone looking for a Davis? This is a good prospect.

Mary, this has never been an exclusive club - everyone is welcome here whether you post frequently or occasionally or once in a blue moon! When Billy started this shop, he said everyone is welcome and the door is always open! That mantra still applies today! We welcome everyone here. Pop in and out whenever you feel like it! We love it when someone comes in with a question or comment - gives us all something to think about, to learn from!

Thanks, Nancy. I was beginning to think those of us that don't add much were not wanted. I, for one, don't say much unless I have a question or want you all to share in my excitement over a new machine. But, sometimes it feels like I'm intruding in a private conversation. Many of you are close friends that get together, or at least that's what it sounds like. We outsiders are just getting into the wonderful world of vintage machines and hope to get some knowledge from you experts. ... don't mean to intrude. So, I appreciate you saying that we are all welcome..... Thanks.

[QUOTE=BoJangles;5253144]Jan, did you get a taker for the 401 and 503 manuals? I would love to buy them from you, I have both machines. I do have a down loaded manual for each, but it would be nice to have the real deal. No bother if someone else already asked, I'm late to this party.

Nancy - they are still available and would love to move to California. PM me and I'll get them on the way to you. Btw, do you have a spare 301 manual?

Great, Jan! Love it! I'll have to remember that line for other ads.

Jan, no I don't - it would be yours if I did - but, here is a link to a free download of the 301 manual. http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...ine-manual.pdf

Goodness! I never thought about folks feeling like they were intruding! I'm sorry you felt that way!

Here is a link to a lovely Weed machine & cabinet that this guy is hoping to PART OUT!!!

I hope someone can get the entire thing....it would be a horrible shame to take it all apart.

Nanna,
All are welcomed!

As Nancy stated, Billy started this shop with an open door. When I started posting, at first I felt that I too could have been intruding, but it was Nancy and some others that asked me questions. I then started sharing my finds and interests with them, which lead to Nancy and others seeking machines other than Singers.

We are all learning from each other on this board and thread.

My only complaint is that there are too many new vintage sewing machine threads started, which I can't keep up with and I really shouldn't worry about. Also, I wonder why some folks only contribute or share info on other different vintage sewing machine threads on the QB (show their face), but not on this thread.

What I liked about this vintage thread that Billy started was that all are welcomed and discussion can be of many topics, pictures can be posted at the same time if it be showing off a new find or question about a part of a machine, and the posting of a heads up on a machine.

I love seeing the new machine finds and quilt projects made with vintage machines!

All are welcomed!

I really wish folks posting on CLs would show the machine. Here is another with picture of just the ornate cabinet.
They state Golden machine...like what is a "Golden" machine. Is it a badged National?

There had been a very nice Weed in the Harrisburg PA area on CLs, but I now don't see it.
These machines do look interesting! I have no room though for one.
